ABOUT
Dr. Sunny Yang has devoted her career to the clinical practice of Chinese medicine. She studied under Dr. Ni Hai Xia for seven years and completed four years of intensive clinical apprenticeship under his direct guidance. Inspired by the profound principles of Classical Formula Medicine (Jing Fang), she has integrated its wisdom into years of clinical practice. Guided by the holistic philosophy of Zhongdao Medicine, she embraces the principles of preventive medicine, treating disease at its root, and strengthening the body's innate healing capacity, with the goal of helping patients achieve lasting health and constitutional balance.
She currently serves as a Doctor of Chinese Medicine at Da Yi Acupuncture & Herbs. Her clinical approach emphasizes syndrome differentiation through the comprehensive integration of the Four Diagnostic Methods of Chinese medicine. In addition to pulse diagnosis, tongue diagnosis, abdominal examination, and observation, she carefully evaluates each patient's breathing, voice, emotional state, posture, and overall constitution to identify the underlying causes of disease. Based on this comprehensive assessment, she develops individualized treatment plans that integrate herbal medicine, dietary therapy, and lifestyle recommendations to restore health and build long-term constitutional strength.
Dr. Sunny specializes in Classical Formula Medicine (Jing Fang), Classical Chinese Herbal Medicine, Constitutional Medicine, Acupuncture, Yuen Shi Dian Therapy, Natural Dietary Therapy, and Exercise Science. Guided by the holistic principles of Zhongdao Medicine, she treats a wide range of acute, chronic, and complex medical conditions while emphasizing the restoration of the body's natural healing capacity.
She has extensive experience in treating a variety of pain conditions, including headaches, neck and shoulder pain, upper and lower back pain, sciatica, musculoskeletal pain, numbness, and weakness. Rather than focusing solely on symptom relief, Dr. Sunny addresses pain through the restoration of internal organ function, the circulation of Qi and Blood, meridian balance, and structural harmony, helping patients achieve long-term recovery.
In internal medicine, Dr. Sunny has extensive experience treating acute and chronic illnesses, including colds, infectious diseases, Long COVID, immune dysfunction, respiratory allergies, asthma, chronic cough, insomnia, tinnitus, dizziness, chronic fatigue, digestive disorders, gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), hypertension, diabetes, fatty liver disease, gallstones, kidney stones, kidney dysfunction, frequent nighttime urination, benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), constipation, hemorrhoids, and obesity.
She also has extensive clinical experience in women's health, including infertility, recurrent miscarriage, painful menstruation, menstrual disorders, amenorrhea, menopausal syndrome, uterine fibroids, and ovarian cysts. Her treatments emphasize hormonal balance, constitutional restoration, and whole-person wellness to help women regain optimal health.
Dr. Sunny believes that the true purpose of medicine extends beyond eliminating disease. It is about helping patients understand their bodies, improve their daily habits, strengthen their constitution, and cultivate lifelong health of body, mind, and spirit. She encourages every patient to "learn from illness," listening carefully to the messages of the body and developing the knowledge and confidence to become their own best health advocate.
Guided by the principles of "Preventive Medicine, Treating the Root Cause, and Strengthening the Body's Foundation," Dr. Sunny is committed to helping every patient restore natural balance, awaken the body's innate healing capacity, and build a strong and healthy constitution through Zhongdao Medicine. She believes that true health is not merely the absence of disease, but a life lived in balance, vitality, and harmony.
